I am using an FT991A. The display on the computer shows the TX (red) is lit in the left frequency display.
On the right display, the RX (green) is lit and the word, "split" is shown in red. I have confirmed the radio is not
in the split mode. When I turn the VFO, the RX / Split goes away and the RX as well as TX is shown on the left side of the display which is VFO A. As soon as I stop turning the VFO, the software shows I am in the split mode again. Again I checked to confirm the radio IS NOT in the split mode. I responded to a CQ and he answered me.
So there is no way the radio is actually in the split mode.
I rebooted the software and it does the same thing. I changed bands, again, it shows SPLIT.
I clicked on what looks like a little gear next to the number radio I am using. A window opens showing offset.
Both VFO's show 0.000 and no blocks are checked off. I even checked off the blocks and no change.
Everything works properly, it's just the display is wrong and when I check the station that is logged, it shows the frequencies are entered as split.

Your issue with CAT communications to your rig. Getting the right rig ini file is key and you might have to 'tweak' it as well.
Scroll through the posts on this thread (I found by doing search of the Forum). It appears that wo9b may have found some tweaks needed in the ini file for the OmniRig CAT communication to the FT rigs. Yaesu does not make it easy as they keep changing things with new rigs all the time. Keep the CAT developers busy for sure.

Re: Software frequency display issue
I just gave the editing of the ini file a try. No luck. I even rebooted the computer just in case Omni Rig kept running in the back ground.
My next try was to address the 991A as a different radio in the Yaesu group. Again no luck.
Back to the drawing boards?
Always open to suggestions.

Update:
I just installed an earlier version of Omni Rig and it works.
Next I want to print out both old and new ini files and compare to see what changed?

Re: Software frequency display issue
What you mean with "earlier Version" ? Latest original in the internet is V 1.19 and this is working
fine with Log4OM V2. "Newer" versions are not originals. They are updated by a HB9 operator and
that versions do have issues with Log4OM V2. They are called Omnirig V2 and they producing some
problems.

Re: Software frequency display issue
The version of Omni Rig that I used that did not work was downloaded along with Log4om.
The earlier version I reinstalled was manually downloaded when I first tried Log4om last year. Version 1.18
I better start over. I should delete my last post where I said it did not work.
First let me say that I entered the date incorrectly in the, "INI" file.
I found an earlier, "INI" file in an old version of Omni Rig. That one worked. I next compared the Status 5 portion and saw the two were different.
The one that works is close to the one that was suggested that I replace. It may have worked.
I replace the Status 5 data with the following and it works.
**********
[STATUS5]
Command=(FT;)
ReplyEnd=(;)
Validate=(FT.
Flag1=(..1.)|pmSplitOn
Flag2=(..0.)|pmSplitOff
Flag3=(..0.)|pmVfoAA
Flag4=(..1.)|pmVfoAB
*********
Now it works like it should.
Thanks for your help. You gave me direction as to where to look. Without it, I could not have figured it out.

Update:
I just downloaded verion 1.19 of Omni Rig from the Omni Rig web site.
I uninstalled version 1.18 and installed version 1.19 in Log4om and it works.
No, don't ask me why as I have no idea.
