log4om / jtdx / jtalert map

Post by nd1x »

These are the version I am using, LOG4OM Ver most recent update/ JTDX Ver 149, JTALERT Ver 2.16.4. Almost everything works! Except for the call sign to show up on Log4om, the call does go into recent qso's (F7) and logged. I can manually put in a call in log4om callsign window and it will show up with a picture from QRZ. The Utilities for both LOTW and QRZ are working fine. When I switched from the last ver. of LOG4OM, the call on JT8 as soon as I made contact populated the call sign. I am thinking, and believe me I am not the brave at heart changing things just for the sake of doing something stupid, that UDP is the problem? Where do I start, I did look at UTUBE, the manuals etc.

Love to get this all working again
Tnx, John

John,
Download the latest version of the User's Guide (it changes frequently, sometime daily or more), then follow the instructions for interfacing with JTDX, JT Alert and Log4OM. Follow then carefully and precisely.

If that still does not work, please post screen shots of your Connection settings for Log4om, and the applicable settings in JTDX and JT Alert.

Hi John,

Thanks for posting those screen shots.

Note - it can get confusing with the settings because we have to accommodate 2 sets of variable - with and without JTAert, AND WSJTx or JTDX. That is 4 different possible iterations. So you need to be following the correct section in the User's Guide!

Here is what is wrong with your settings:
1. According to page 160 of the latest (02/05/2020) Users Guide, for JTDX settings, you have the 2nd UDP server Enabled. Please uncheck "Enable sending to secondary UDP server."
Also, for consistency, change the Primary UDP Server port (lower on the form) to 2333. You have 2237 set.

2. In Log4OM Configuration, Connections, you need to create an additional connection per page 159 of the User's Guide - for JTAlert Rebroadcast - on port 1240.

3, You did not attach a screen shot of the JTAlert - Settings, Applications, WSJT-X / JTDX settings, but you need to follow the settings on page 161 of the User's Guide and check Rebroadcast and set the port to 1240.

Again, its all about finding the section which matches the software you are using and following the instructions precisely. If you do that, the JTDX DX Call will be forwarded automatically into Log4OM's Callsign field.

Doug
