Logged as 17M, showing as 30M, LOTW as 30M

Post by LB4MI »

Hi,
was logging my /P activities today with the portable profile.
Entering all data from SOTA, all looked good. Until I noticed that the QSO's had been uploaded as 30M, even if my log say 17M.

My log:
1111.jpg
1111.jpg (42.03 KiB) Viewed 2395 times
Editing one of the QSO's:
2222.jpg
2222.jpg (241.83 KiB) Viewed 2395 times
Showing the "result" in LOTW:
33.jpg
33.jpg (91.2 KiB) Viewed 2395 times
Any ideas?

UPDATE: If I click "Refresh data" in the "Edit QSO", it changes to correct band... So perhaps a bug I provoked here...

Were you using CAT when you logged your portable QSO's

Hi,
yes, when I enter my portable QSO's into Log4OM, I set my radio to the frequency and mode that I used portable. Then I only change the time/date to the QSO time.
Then I don't have to enter frequency/mode for each QSO.

Is this part of issue, perhaps?

Probably had a 30m frequency in the field when you were logging and on save it derived the band from the frequency.

Best to stop CAT from the connect menu and then having set the freq and mode lock both

Better still use Lazy log I find it much faster once your used to it

Ok, I will try that next time.
However I have used "my" method several times without any issues, but...it's difficult to look for the root cause when there are so many possibilities.

Please also see: https://forum.log4om.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=6677 where the exact same issue was reported, but the reporter didn't follow up with more information. I'll keep a eye on this in the future, and try to catch when it's happening.

I'll give LazyLog a try, it has seen a bit complex when I have opened it.
But when importing from LazyLog, will all uploads be automatic (QRZ, eQSL....and so on)? That's a benefit of my method is to get all uploaded.

And one last thing; is it possible to have all uploads done on exit of Log4OM? Often when I log, I realize 1 minute later that I have to update something. E.g. logging a CW contact as SSB as an example from yesterday. I haven't found a menu option to set e.g. 10 minutes, or "On exit" yet,

Best regards,
Helge.

Yes just the same and also lookup if you check the box
