I have read the manual and watched Terry's YouTube video on the subject and I'm still having problems interfacing PstRotatorAz with Log4OM. I have the port set to 12040 everywhere it's required. I entered the IP address (192.168.1.255) in the "Connections" page when I created my outbound UDP connection, [UDP_OUTBOUND] [PSTROTATOR] [12040] PSTROTATOR.
I have PstRotatorAz set to RS232/TCP Server, UDP Control box shows port 12040 and IP 192.168.1.255, UDP Control checked under the setup tab, and in the "tracker" tab is checked for Log4OM. When I try to check Tracking on the PSTRotatorAz main menu, I get a "Log4OM Tracking Error" message and it won't stay checked, it goes back to manual.
If I select a callsign in Log4OM and hit Azmuth, it takes my controller to the proper bearing. It does not populate the Call window in PstRotatorAZ even though I have the "send callsign" option checked in Log4OM.
I have no hair left to pull out.
Any idea what I'm missing?

Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Re: Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Hi Steve -
I also use PSTRotatorAz (PSTR) with Log4OM2 which works very well for me. Here are the differences that I see from your posting -
1) Under the PSTR "Setup" menu I *do not* have UDP Control checked - there is nothing checked in that entire menu except WX Information (to allow for high winds to stow the antenna).
2) As to callsigns not being shown, that is decided by PSTR itself. Use the "Trackers" option under the PSTR "Setup" menu, then select "Log4OM Setup" selection.
You will see both the inbound Port selection (12040) and also a box to select whether you want the Azimuth or Callsign (being sent by Log4OM) to determine where the rotator goes. If you select Callsign you will see the call which is being sent by Log4OM and the rotator will use it's own lookup to point the antenna (and also display the call in the PSTRotator callsign box).
For me - I use the "Azimuth" selection and don't even have see the Callsign box on PSTRotator as I use a minimized view.
Hope this helps -

Re: Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Thanks, Larry. Our systems must be operating differently. I need UDP control checked or nothing happens with either Azmuth or callsign. I tried changing the setup under Log4OM in PSTR tracker setup to callsign but nothing happened. I was expecting it to populate the callsign box in PSTR with the one showing in Log4OM but it doesn't.
I am getting used to using the Azmuth button in Log4OM and it works well, so I guess I will stick with that. Since I am using a hex beam I don't need to park the antenna.
Oh, I do have PSTR set for RS232/TCP Server under the Communication menu.

Re: Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Steve are you clicking either the SP or LP azimuth buttons on Log4OM to select which heading you want to send to the rotator?

Yes, I am. They work fine.

Re: Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Sorry I couldn't help Steve, and hope you get it figured out.
(On a side note, since I use the same computer to log with that also controls the rotator, I use 127.0.0.1 as the IP address.)
Merry Christmas and 73,

Re: Help with PstRotatorAz and Log4OM Interface
Merry Christmas to you too, Larry. I noticed that 127.0.0.1 was greyed out so I tried that too. I also used the same computer for logging and SDR. It didn't seem to make any difference. That's okay though, the azimuth button does the trick.
