As I am QSLing more than expected these days I want to start using the label print function to save my writing hand!
I only do via bureau really so is it possible to stop the lookup for every single callsign? On my PC the search can take between a 2 to 10 seconds each and I don't need any of that info. Can it be disabled for the label print utility?
Disable label print routing search?
Re: Disable label print routing search?
Steve,
Not sure why your system is taking so long to populate the information. Log4OM is not really looking up anything other than what is already in the QSO record. When the Call sign is first entered into the main Log4OM screen, that is when the data query is done to provide the address, etc, to populate the QSO record.
As always, it would help to state the version of Log4OM you are working with.
Can you confirm if only one QSO is selected on the QSO Selection tab, then press Confirm Selection, it takes 2 to 10 seconds for the Routing tab to populate? Mine is almost instant. Or am I missing your point.

Re: Disable label print routing search?
Hi Doug,
My version is 2.17, sorry.
Yes it is sluggish with just one QSO. It's (Log4OM main program) also very sluggish to look up the details when you type a callsign in the main logging window. Or WSJT-X passes a callsign. I've recently started using WSJT-Z which has its own built in QRZ lookup and that is always instant. Often I can work someone on FT4 before Log4om has looked them up. Not sure why that is, I try to turn off most things I don't need.
I did notice, as I was trying to set up the printer and having several goes with the same QSOs that the details seemed to get cached as often subsequent runs (after I had exited print label screen but not exited Log4OM) were in fact instant.

Steve,
Also tell us how long your PC has been running. Open Task Manager from the Task Bar, on the Performance tab at the bottom it will show Up Time.
Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,
My PC is switched off when not in use, so the answer would be from basically zero hours.
