I had left the PC on over night and rebooted it when I noticed the peskie problem again, it all started working, after a hour or more of listening and talking the problem again raised it's self.
Reboot and all ok for a while.
What should I do next.
Mine is still doing the same thing. I run two instances of Log4OM each one on a separate computer. The problem occurs on both computers.

Looks like the build team has given up on this problem, does anyone recommend a different program I was looking at N1MM possibly.

Paul,

We've not given up on this issue ... it is just that none of us on the Alpha team have been able to replicate it.

In one of your posts you noted that it seems to be a more common (or always common) occurrence when using the VPN. Have you tried running Log4OM V2 with the VPN totally off and out of the operational picture? What are the results with that configuration?

As additional support to possibly help unpeel this onion please generate a Support Request. The instructions on how to do that is on Page 239 of the current User Guide. Goes without saying it is best to be able to generate the request when the issue occurs so maybe try both with and without VPN ... IF that makes any difference.

Send the support request to Lele - IW3HMH at his address in QRZ.com.

As for N1MM of DXLog ... they are both good programs used for contesting and work very well. They both also interconnect with Log4OM V2 so you can adequately manage your Q's for history, awards, etc., etc.. Log4OM V2 is not designed as a primary
contesting application.

Thanks for the reply,
I have totally removed NordVPN from the system, which included a full restart on the system, at the moment all seems ok, but time will tell. I will experiment with this configuration over the coming days and report how the system reacts. As i did say I have been leaving the VPN turned off but now it has been removed completely.

Fingers crossed

Paul,

If it rears its ugly head again do all you can to follow the Support Request steps and get the file(s) sent to Lele.

The issue (as you can tell) is not a wide-spread item else there would be a flood of OMs commenting about it.

Any other OMs (some have expressed similar slowness) should also do the same to try and capture the information and create a Support Request.

Tnx for hanging in there and helping gather information for the debugging.

I have submitted a report as per the guide, hope you can do something about this because at times it is unusable.

It appears I have found my issue and hopefully this will help others! I also started experiencing issues with Solar data updates. They were not updating. I also noticed my system lagging while loading Lo4OM v. 2.23.0.0.

I had forgotten that I turned off automatic feature updates for Windows 10. The Windows 10, version 21H2 was not installed, but awaiting for me to give the ok for the update. I performed the update and checked one more time for updates and 2022-08 Cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64 based systems (KB5016616) and 2022-08 Cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 21H1 for x64 based systems (KB5012170) needed to also be installed!

Once I performed these updates my Solar updates were instantaneous and then I toggled QRZ for my look up updates and just like that everything is so far working 100% as before!! I then checked the look ups with QRZCQ and HAMQTH and they to are instantaneous!

I hope this helps others! If anything changes I will be sure to post it! Special thanks to the support staff for all there help in trying to figure this issue out... especially when they were not successful in reproducing the problem. (They are probably better at keep up with system updates!!)

Jeff,

Tnx much for the update / input. I'm guessing that not doing or delaying Windows o/s updates could cause various issues.

I have to say that I do keep current with my o/s updates so (if they were/are an issue) I would not be seeing issues caused by such. Currently I'm using W-10 with most current updates and have the nagging reminder tag that my laptop will not work with W-11. Just can't afford to shell out $$ for new hardware to run W-11. I know there are bootleg copies of W-11 that will ignore some of the items it is looking for, but I'm not inclined to go down that rabbit hole.
