Connection 7300 and SteppIR interrupted

Post by PA3MM »

Hello HAMs,

Operation conditions IC7300 - SteppIR Fluidmotion controller paired together
I am facing the following problem.
When I start LOG4OM then in the Cat settings CI-V Transceive changes to off.
This causes the communication no longer works between the IC7300 and the SteppIR controller, I then set the value back to on and the communication works again as before.
Does anyone know what I can do so that this CI-V Tranceive no longer changes at LOG4OM startup?

Jan,

Couple questions: What version of Log4OM are you using? Which CAT module are you using - OmniRig or Hamlib?

Do you have the current drivers downloaded/installed for your IC7300?

I know nothing about Stepir but I suspect a CAT conflict, have you tried using the PSTrotator interface which I know works with your aerial

How is the equipment connected.
The SteppIr controller is connected to the CI-V jack plug of the IC-7300, and the computer connected through the USB port.
This works very well with all Ham radio programs I use N1MM, HRD, WSJT and have no conflicts with any program.
Would like to make the switch from HRD to LOG4OM but because after starting LOG4OM my connection between the IC7300 and the SteppIr is disconnected I cannot make the switch.

So I use two different ports on the IC-7300 namely the USB for PC and the CI-V for the SteppIr.

When I had a 7300 there was a menu item to seperate the USB and serial interfaces so they could be used as you describe, did you check that?

Thanks Therry,

In the connectors menu, DATA MOD was set to USB this caused the conflict.

It is now solved and I can make the switch to LOG4OM.

Thanks again for the help.
