Hello friends,
is it normal that the Cluster disconnects regularly after some (idle?) time and then I have to re-connect manually?
is there a way how to prevent this or is it a normal behaviour to save data?

Disconnection of Cluster after some time
Re: Disconnection of Cluster after some time
Stefan,
Have you enabled the "keep alive" option for the cluster(s) involved?

Hi Nolan,
thanks for your reply.
This box is checked (by default?) but greyed out, so it is even not possible to disable it.. very strange.

Re: Disconnection of Cluster after some time
Stefan,
It is NOT grayed out when you have the cluster selected to "edit" the parameters of that given cluster.
It is grayed out when you are just casually looking at that panel.
Disconnect your clusters then select one to edit and you will then have that option turn 'active'.

Re: Disconnection of Cluster after some time
Stefan,
Lele has that option selected by default, but each OM can uncheck if they choose.
I have the same chosen with my installation, but I did lose the connection to my main cluster 2-3 times this past week. Turns out the fellow with the custer/servers was doing some updates so the cluster was off-line for an hour or so and then the internet connection to his site also got hit with local ISP failures due to a 'telco' issue.
Not much I could do about that save for selecting another cluster to monitor until those resources came back online.
Short of such situations I seldom lose cluster connections.

Re: Disconnection of Cluster after some time
I have been noticing the cluster disconnects for some time over several revisions of Log4OM. And, I have the "keep alive" checked on all the clusters I have used. I have tried several different clusters and found that the disconnects happened to all of them, but there is no pattern as to how long after they connect that they disconnect. Who knows? It is the Internet after all!

Brad,
I've been noticing the same thing over many versions as well. Rich - kd0zv, also on the Alpha Team - has also noted similar with a lot of input from some OMs he is working with as well.
We've both made Lele aware of the situation and will keep fingers crossed that he can come up with a solution to resolve.
