Recently one of our users flagged an issue withn the island of Crete call signs and upon exploring we found the download file provided by POTA via thier API listed the island with the wrong DXCC reference.
I contacted POTA and informed them that their ADIF DXCC field for Crete had an incorrect entity number of 526 and should be corrected to 40
The response that I received stated that "the DXCC field was only intended for use internally and would not be changed in the near future"!
After discussions with Lele we have decided not to re-write a major section of Log4OM's code to overcome this POTA issue as it would be so simple for POTA to provide accurate DXCC data in the existing download.
We then had to decide wether to remove the POTA support altogether or inform our users of alternative methods to overcome the problems as below.
1. Record the Reference by using the 'Add' facility - Details of how to do that are covered in our user guide in the SOTA and IOTA sections, same method.
2. Use the Log4OM award manager to edit the award entity list - Be aware that updates will undo any changes made to the award
We appologise for any inconvenience to our users but hope that they understand the reason for us taking this stance.
