ADIF Import - Country Not Showing in Main Log
ADIF Import - Country Not Showing in Main Log
Hello. New user. I imported my current log in ADIF from COMMCAT. I have updated the country list before importing (several times), and have tried checking and un-checking the update country box. On the main log display, the COUNTRY shows blank on all contacts. But, if I go into the log detail page, the country is there. If I "save" from within the detail section, the country then appears on the main log list. But, it seems I would have to do this for each and every prior log entry ..... not good!! Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong, or how to fix this? Thanks!! WX4F

What version of Log4om are you using
If you recently updated to a later version of Log4om did you uninstall the old version before installing the new version?

Hello. Running newest 1.17.1 and this is the first time install, no prior version. I have not tried removing and re-installing however, so I may try that next if no other ideas. So far, I like the way this works otherwise. 73.

If a fresh install does not fix it please email me you logbook database, it's an SQLite file
YOU MUST UNINSTALL THE EXISTING VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING THE NE ONE!

Thanks Terry. I just emailed you (QRZ address) my database. I did try two clean installs (complete), but I still get the same issue. 73. WX4F

Re: ADIF Import - Country Not Showing in Log - Resolved
The reason that Gray had a problem is as follows:
The ComCat ADIF did not include any country names, I suspect this is because ComCat uses the recorded DXCC reference to look up a table of countries for display purposes only, but this is just a guess! As a result there were no country names to import using a normal ADIF import operation.
When importing the ADIF into Log4OM Gray should have checked the “Update countries in ADIF” box, this would have forced Log4OM to update the country names and DXCC references by using the call sign prefixes. See my Youtube video about ADIF import here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ammJiEp8Kes
I imported with the “Update countries in ADIF” box checked and all country names were added and any rogue DXCC references updated, the resulting SQLite file has been sent to Gray and he confirmed that all is now OK.
