Trying to upgrade to the latest version. It says to delete the program completely and install the new version. Is that correct?
I know backup my log in an adi
Can someone let me know if that is correct. I hate to have to setup my filters and everything again.

Yes that is fully correct. That´s the original way from the begin on but meanwhile Daniele has implemented a warning when an older version is installed ....... The reason was that some OM forgot to uninstall and than the software works sometimes not as it should.
