CABRILLO support?

Post by dk2lo »

From other posts I realized that Cabrillo is probably not supported. But in the manual on page 49 contest info I found:

"The field Contest ID allows the user to indicate in the log the name of the contest to which the QSO
refers. This option allows the user to export correctly in a CABRILLO report file the information
required for the contest organiser."

What does this mean? Is this export a LOG4OM function already?

No it means the ADIF file contains the fields required for a Cabrillo upload.

In other words export an ADIF file to a Cabrillo converter and the correct fields will be available.

Cabrillo export is on our list but might become unnecessary if we integrate with N1MM because that contest software includes the Cabrillo export facility which is only used by contesters.

Hi Terry,

thank you for the explanation.

Therefore I had no problems to submit my CWWW ADIF log from LOG4OM on the CQ WW ADIIF to CABRILLO conversion website.

Just my 2 cents - I would love to see N1MM+ integration with Log4OM. Specifically, what I mean is when you enter a callsign into the log entry window of N1MM, it would automatically appear in Log4OM callsign entry field on the main window, so you could immediately see if you need that country, band or mode. Then when you log the contact in N1MM+, it would be automatically logged into Log4OM. It would also be nice if N1MM+ used OmniRig for interfacing to the rig, so both N1MM+ and Log4OM could share the same rig control com port. (yes, I know a VSP sort of does this, but not really. I have been unable to get N1MM+ to work correctly with a VSP share with Log4OM. It seems to work most of the time, but N1MM+ presumably has data collisions and will miss a command to the rig every so often. Most notoriously, the command to stop transmitting - which can be distressing!) But using OmniRig will have to be something which N1MM folks add to their capabilities.

Is that type of integration possible? Are the N1MM+ folks willing to work with us? If its any help, I have been a beta tester for the new N1MM+, for whatever that is worth.

Doug,
There is already a UDP system in N1MM for this and as far as I recal the system would be that N1MM is connected to CAT and Log4om would receive the CAT info from N1MM just like FLDigi follows Log4om but reversed
