QRZ LookUp

Post by VE1XOP »

I feel a little lost here. Be nice if there was a video on how to configure this software. Where is the setting to look-up calls while making contacts - say to QRZ? And does one need a membership at QRZ to make this work and where do you input the details?

Try these

https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC6Ppcj4Eb4-7QyavI-azOug

You need a paid for subscription to get the full information from QRZ

However if you subscribe to Ham QTH you can use the free HamQTH lookup

I did not do a video for contesting but its covered in the user guide, the other video will partially cover contesting.

However you can set the contest name and any prefix/suffix required in the exchange plus of course an automatic increment to the serial number

You set the date/time range of the contest (Start and finish) then if you enter a new call the program only checks the contacts within the date/time range set - Not the complete logbook Also our Winkeyer support integrates nicely with the contest facility when contest mode is enabled.

Please be aware that we do not provide a contest log that competes with N1MM or similar, our contest facility is very much for the casual contester not the avid contest man :D like we don't provide scores and multipliers etc.

Will I be able to export a file and submit to ARRL for example?

log4om provide an ADIF export and you need after a cabrillo tranformer to send log to the ARRL robot

you can use a adif to cabrillo conveter , which is available at

http://sp7dqr.pl/en/converters.php

L4O can´t handle the formats that the logrobots need (Cabrillo and/or STF for the IARU and DARC contests). The easiest way is to use a "real" contestlogger which can handle this formats and which can handle also the point calculation (Points, Multipliers and needed Exchange numbers) ..... For a contest session i only use a "real" contest logger and after the contest i can crate a file to send it to the log robot or via email to ARRL or other organisations. Next step ist to export the contestlog as ADIF and import it to Log4OM .....

The L4O contest module is o.k. if you like to spend points and reach in your log as "checklog". If you like to do so you can export from L4O as ADIF and use a ADIF to Cabrillo converter .....

For "real" contesters a "real" contest logger is the right way ;) ;)
