Club and Awards

Post by G4DWV »

Hi

I have downloaded the latest awards updates.

How does one use the Club and Awards (F3) tab? I am experimenting and cannot seem to be able to do much. The two drop down boxes are empty, except for the Worked All Castles award appearing in the left drop down box, which if selected, populates the right box. On another test machine both boxes are empty.

The only mention I can find of this tab in the manual is at the top of page 49.

There is a full description commencing on page 127 which describes the award manager set up and use and the video "Using Log4om" also covers using these awArds here:

http://youtu.be/3gGEI5wSVtw

Just remember that many awards are only available for certain countries and on specific bands and therefore will not display if the call sign entered is incorrect or the radio is on a band which cannot be used for that award.

E.g If you enter a call sign LA0AA the WAB awards will not be available nor will the Comonwealth Century Award

You must enter a call sign to see the full list of awards eligible for that country and you may still not see the required awards if you radio is on a band which is not eligible for the awards

Hi Terry,

Thanks. It was not clear that the tab's was linked to the awards manager. Maybe a reference to this in the manual could be considered?

On page 132 the illustrations and text seem to refer to a different (older?) version of Log4OM.

Thanks as always for your help.

Hello Guy,

there is no difference between the manual of V1.19 and V1.20 ..... If you have a 1.19 installed or a 1.20 the manual is the same. The changes between both version are only marginal .... ;) ;)
73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.

The only difference is the tab number which is now F3 but used to be F6, other than that the contents of the tab are identical

I will change all of the graphics relating to this and the accompanying text to reflect this difference

I will also add a banner to the reference on page 49 directing readers to the full explanation of the awards manager and its use on page 127.

I will amend the user guide immediately but these changes will be uploaded as an when Lele has time.

Thank you for pointing out these shortcomings
