Something weird in the "Statistics and Awards" with the WAZ 20m information. I got a friend of mine to also check and he too has a similar problem.
When I go to Statistics and Awards / WAZ / WAZ 20m it tells me that I have worked 46/46 zones and verified 41/46 which is interesting, seeing that there are only 40 zones available. My friends list says that he has worked 41/41 and has verified 38/41 Is this a bug, or a problem with my friends and mine database(s) ??

Statistics & Awards error
Re: Statistics & Awards error
Hi John,
Had the same phenomenon with another award, but illegal entries appeared at the end of the list and were easy to correct.

Re: Statistics & Awards error
thank you Markus. I just did a sort in the "Zone" column of the F8 window and found all sorts of weird numbers in there. All of them appear to be a "switched" ITU zone / CQ Zone. These "switched" zones have probably been put in to QRZ incorrectly by those concerned and Log4OM has picked them up from there. I will correct them myself... And I have informed my friend of this as well. I will leave the post here in case others are curious.

PS. Maybe Log4OM could add some sort of number checking to the zones for a future version

Re: Statistics & Awards error
Further information :
after much searching and attempts to edit, I still have a problem in the Statistics and Awards / WAZ / WAZ 20m (and one or two other bands). On 20m it tells me that I have worked 41/41. On some other bands the number is something out of 41.
Searching through my log reveals that the 41st zone is zone 0 (zero).
I have several contacts in my log that are marked as "No-DXCC-Status" and when a contact is given this status, it is also having CQ Zone and ITU Zone set to 0 (zero) and, there is no other number available in the zone drop downs. I could probably change the number by typing it in however, if it is invalid for DXCC is is most likely also invalid for WAZ and other awards etc.
I would like to suggest that a bug report go in for this, and that "No DXCC-Status" and Zone 0 be left out of the equation when statics are collected and these contacts do not count.

I agree.
If a country has no DXCC Status it must be ignored for all awards.
I've asked and it is on our Mantis list to do the same for Ignore QSL status.
The No DXCC Status entity listing is for those operators that are using unauthorized call signs for their political agenda.

Zero can also apply to maritime mobile stations that is what the DXCC definition zero is for.K7PT wrote:The No DXCC Status entity listing is for those operators that are using unauthorized call signs for their political agenda.
INMHO we also need to add a "Blank" for illegal stations and not include "Bank" or "0" (zero) in the statistics

Re: Statistics & Awards error
I'm not entirely sure about MM stations. They will be operating from a real zone but cannot be used for DXCC credit. They may be able to count for WAZ credit but I'm not sure.
My thoughts were that the user has to make some of the decisions when it comes to this issue and that's why I suggested the "I" (ignore) QSL status as it's a adif standard.

"If a country has no DXCC Status it must be ignored for all awards."
I disagree.
This would exclude some awards, e. g. the WAE-award and several CQ-awards. The WAE entity list contains Z6 Kosovo and several CQ-awards and CQ-contests acknowledge the WAE-list.

Dear Olaf,
Read the last sentence of my last reply. Just don't put an "I" for the status. You have control over it.
The adif spec has no available option for "good" for some awards and not for others. And, adif is the standard between all loggers.
Lastly, if it's not a recognized entity (forget DXCC) by international standards, i.e. the ITU and IARU, it does not exist except when one's imagination takes over or maybe political hopes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't believe DARC has anything to do with the assignment of prefixes or licensing of amateur radio stations.
Kind of reminds me of the (I think) the 1B0 guy who claims his own country or some other crazy idea.
Just my thoughts on the subject. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all. Cheers!
