Path to US stations always the same

Post by w3att »

For some reason, the SP and LP always show due west from my location for any US stations. Any way to point to the proper grid square? this would be helpful while running Vhf/Uhf.

Path is calculated locator to locator.
If you don't have access to QRZ.COM (at least xml $$ Subscription) or HAMQTH.COM (free and very good) Log4OM doesn't know where the other operator is phisically located so it points roughly to the "country center".

If you know the correspondent locator and you type it on the locator field all goes fine. But i strongly suggest you to switch to hamqth or qrz.com if you can (user and password can be set in SETTINGS, third tab from left)

If you are writing about the "path" shown on the greyline map, this is "normal" for the current version of Log4om. the map is not reactive and the dotted line only ever go's in that one direction.

Thank you! I was using QRZ for my lookup, but I don't have a paid subscription so all I was getting was the name, address, etc - never the grid square.

Switched to use my HamQTH.com account for look-up and it works perfectly! Thank you...

Hi Brian, only a word ...

HamQTH isn´t perfect when the users dont fill in their locator informations. If a user don´t do this the result will be the same as on qrz.com. Log4OM shows only the distance from your locator to the middle of the country of the station you have worked.

What i need to suggest is that all HAM´s should be a user of HamQTH and hold their informations "up to date" .... The service is free and the service is great and i think it should be possible to hold his informations (like locator e.g.) on an actual standing.

;) ;)
