Looking at the Country list I see Crozet's Prefix shows as FT09W ??
No wonder the 5 Q's I have don't show up.
Again, I ask, how can one edit the Country File ?? I can do it myself
in DXBase. It's not a State Secret.

Crozet FT09W ???
Re: Crozet FT09W ???
You can if you want it's an xml file. If you mess it up, your on your own.
If you can provide me with evidence that FT09W was a legal call and the start/end dates of the operation I'll add it to the Historical Special call file.
Without this information, I'll not.

I think I can muddle through, what's the file name ?
You got it backwards ... the Country Prefix shows up as FT09W.

Re: Crozet FT09W ???
Dick, the way I read the info, it is not FT09W but is actually FT[0-9]W where FT is the prefix, 0 to 9 is the area and W is the first letter of the suffix which, when I type in to the log, FT0W (or any other number up to 9) leads the log software to display Crozet. or did I miss something in your messages???w1ksz wrote:I think I can muddle through, what's the file name ?

Dick,
Had you been clear, I could have helped you but your note was I thought a call sign, not the contents of the file.
What's the call sign your having a problem with? Maybe I can assist you.

Re: Crozet FT09W ???
File is COUNTRY.XML and resides in your settings folder. You can open settings folder from HELP menu for your convenience.
It's an XML file so you can freely update it. Simply disable automatic updates to avoid having it overwritten automatically (you should keep other files updated by regularly clicking on update functions menu).
Anyway, as Chuck suggested, it's best to have it centralized and optimized for all users. If you have an issue, this issue is probably shared with other, but if you have a special "personal" needs the only way is to update the country file. It's simple and i hope clear enough, but we can't provide much support if you screw something
