Log4OM with new Yaesu FT-991 settings???
Re: Log4OM with new Yaesu FT-991 settings???
Hello all, I also tried using both USB and Serial connections, the CAT light shows Green and under the Omnirig Client.exe settings I can see the radio communicating with Ominirig but unfortunately it does not work inside Log4OM. I tried to flash to the latest firmware, change cables, use different radios such as FTDX-5000 and FT-2000 but nothing seems to work. Very strange. I will keep trying and report back.

Hi Terry,
In response to the latest comments ,you can select RS232 and USB on the FT991 in the setup.
And yes both connections are on the rear of the FT991.And it works immediatelly with N1MM+ and HRD connected with the USB.
And it will do cat and audio on "one" usb cable.

Can you connect OK to log4om by using the RS232 serial port on the rear of the radio

Re: Log4OM with new Yaesu FT-991 settings???
Has anyone in the south of England got one of these rigs that I could borrow for a couple of days?
Trying to resolve this without a radio is like looking for the Holy Grail

Hi Terry
I do not have a RS232 to usb converter anymore.
And yes having a FT991 would help ,but i can not ship mine to UK.
Just for info the new Elecraft is using the same setup with USB.
If i can help let me know

Re: Log4OM with new Yaesu FT-991 settings???
Hi ??????
Latest Icom radios and other Yaesu radios also have USB connections and there have not been any reported issues with them as far as Log4om is concerned
The Kenwood TS590 is a bit flakey on the USB CAT connection and I know several people that had to use the rear Acc connection instead, not just when using Log4om but many other programs.
The FT991 remains a mystery because as you have found some users report success while others like you have issues.
It's very difficult to identify a problem without a radio and I can't afford to purchase one!
Can you borrow a normal interface to connect to the rear CAT connection just to try this will at least identify a possible issue with the VSP as opposed to a CAT command problem?
