IW3HMH wrote:Hi John, are you sure you have copied a config backup made BEFORE 1.19.0 installation? eg. 2 days ago?
Because those informations are all in the config.xml...
Yes Lele.. very sure. With the problems I was having with the first release of 1.19.0, I did a hard drive restore (I made a 'clone' backup of my hdd with Acronis before starting the 1.19.0 uninstall/install)..... this restore then put me back to 1.18.1 and I used it throughout today. When I read your message about re-downloading etc, I did so and used the config file from my working 1.18.1.
The fact that the windows positions and sizes defaulted back to their original install positions and not to my saved positions is not critical (just a little extra work) because I can (and have) moved them to where I want them now.. I just do not know why their positions did not save.
On that note, Log4om is one of the few programs that I use that requires an uninstall before upgrading. Is it possible to have two releases .... One a full insytall, and one an upgrade ???? preferably an upgrade that does not require an uninstall, somewhat similar to N1MM for example ????

You probably noticed the new installer? Now we have changed the installer once users have installed 1.19 all future releases will instal without having to remove the old version.
Versions prior to 1.19 must be uninstalled before installing 1.19

We should make some tests on this, but yes, new installer will allow us to have more control on what is actually installed on the system and allow "install over".
The issue with window position is really really strange... nothing has changed on that part...

I too am having difficulties. I wish we did not have to uninstall the previous version first.
Anyway, I went back into the saved backups and got a backup from the previous version and renamed it per instructions and put it in the LOG4OM directory. I shut down LOG4OM and restarted it. The program did not pick up the Config file I just added. My problem is in the LOTW upload. Under External logs, I filled in the Executable path and the Temporary path using the examples shown in the users manual using my call etc. But still no joy. I get an error message from LOTW on uploading. Any help will be appreciated. The error I get:
"The selected station location could not be found"
"Final Status: Command Syntax error (10)"

as stated after this release there will no longer be a requirement to uninstall the old version but you must uninstall the old version before installing 1.19

We have updated the download this morning so you must follow the instructions given by Daniele earlier today
1. Uninstall Log4om
2.
DOWNLOAD THE VERSION 1.19 AGAIN - ITS DIFFERENT TO THE ONE THAT YOU FIRST DOWNLOADED
3. Install the fresh version downloaded above
4. Rename and copy the backup file to config.xml to the c:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\LogOM folder - Make sure the backup file is dated a couple of days ago

1. It looks like you have entered an incorrect "Station location" in Log4om
2. You do know that LOTW server has not been working for some time
3. Are you using the latest version off Tqsl?
4. Can you upload using the TQSL software without using Log4om?

Terry....
This must be a very busy day for you. I do have the latest version of TQSL and I can upload from that. I have twice made a config. file from old saved ones, but it makes no difference.

Did you uninstall 1.19
Did you download a fresh download of 1.19 and install that?

Yes it is strange... No one else seems to have had this particular one... Oh well, it is good to be unique
May I suggest re this :-
2. DOWNLOAD THE VERSION 1.19 AGAIN - ITS DIFFERENT TO THE ONE THAT YOU FIRST DOWNLOADED
that for future 'quick fixes, and possibly even this one, you rename the file... something like 1.19.0a so that the old and the new do not get mixed up.
