Re: Log4om & Omnirig / RIG-2 problem
In case other readers are here looking for the outcome to this problem.............. The Rig-1 Rig-2 option of Log4om currently will not work with Icom radios that are connetced via a CT-17 C-IV level converter due to limitations of the interface software, Omnirig. In its present format, Omnirig does not address the Icom HEX addressing system and can only address a single radio on a single serial port therefore, to connect two radios, you need two serial ports.
I do not know the Omnirig developer so, if anyone reading this does know him, perhaps this could be brought to his attention in the hope that he might add Icom HEX addreessing capability.
If anyone knows of any other free rig interfacing software that might be adaptable to Log4om, please let the group know.
Finally, a big thanks to Terry for all the email exchanges between myself and Norm and for working out why it would not work.
I think that about covers it.

Re: Log4om & Omnirig / RIG-2 problem
John,
I will contact Alex of Omnirig about this for you
The hex address is included in the rig ini files but it seems that Omnirig only uses it to identify the radio not to differentiate between multiple radios
I will keep you posted but meanwhile a normal USB connection to one of the rigs and the existing interface to the other will get him going
