Log4om & Omnirig / RIG-2 problem

Post by VK7XX »

I was at my friend Norm's, VK7AC today helping him set up Log4om. We were trying to set up with 2 radios, Rig 1 with an IC-7800 and Rig 2 with an IC-910 and using OmniRig as the CAT software .

Rig 1 as IC-7800 works just fine, rig 2 never displays the radio's frequency.....

So, I swapped sides (so to speak).. I set up with the IC-910 as rig 1 and the IC-7800 as rig 2... Now, once again, rig 1 (as the 910) works fine but rig 2 does not show any frequency... So, both radio's work perfectly as rig 1, but neither radio works as rig 2. Anyone any ideas.......

Has to be something wrong in the rig two set up

There is a small issue that reig one needs to be turned on first for rig two to start but I am sure that you are aware of that

We tried every combination of rig on / rig off possible. Even tried setting the radios and Omnirig to various baud rates. Sadly, I just could not get rig 2 to work in any combination of settings. We even started up HRD which Norm had been previously using to make sure both rigs still worked in that prog... they do.

I am at a loss as to what to try next.

thanks Terry

John,
Uninstall Omnirig - Download the latest version and install it, I have had this sort of problem before and it was because an old version of Omnirig was being used.

If you still have an issue.....

Set up the two rigs correctly and have them both running with rig one connected

Then go to the help menu and set debug mode going

Now try switching from rig one to rig two a few times

Return to the help menu and complete the "Support request"

Send the resulting zip file to me

If I still can't resolve this after seeing the support request files then we will have to get the guy to install Teamviewer so that I can check it myself.

We will resolve this, trust me!

Thanks again Terry. I have been talking to Norm via 2 metres and after doing all the above, he has prepared a support request which, by now, should be in your email in box.

I will step aside now and leave it to you and Norm

I just checked with him. Said he sent to the email address on your QRZ page. If still nothing, I'll get him to resend. He has also installed Team Viewer in anticipation of you needing it. :-)

I have passed this on to Norm. I don't know how Tasmania's fabulously slow internet will go with Skype. I know I can't use it in any video mode and even talking on it is a strain.... typing works OK tho. Good luck with it...
