I already have a modelist_user.csv which is providing for new modes. What would happen if modelist.csv is wiped out?

By next release do you mean 1.29 or v2?

If you have a file "modelist_user.csv" all will be OK on reinstall. If not, the other file, modelist.csv will be overwritten.
