Does Gmail use SSL?

I tested the gmail configuration and it was working fine with me.

I had this same issue and was able to resolve it. I had my settings wrong initially, but even after I corrected them, I could not get email to send. It wasn't until I fully closed Log4OM and re-opened it that it started working. In the Log4OM communicator activity log, it was not logging anything email related. I shutdown Log4OM, made no changes, and tried again after restart, and it worked.
