Re: 2.27.1 Not working

I am running version 2.26.0.0 and hesitate to upgrade to 2.27.1 because I do not fully understand what needs to be
done prior to the installation of 2.27.1
I use Omnirig and WSJT-x for FT4/8 with my IC-7300.

The following warning raises the question, must I delete the UDP connection in current V2.26.0.0 before upgrading?
USERS OF FT8/4 JT SOFTWARE MUST DELETE EXISTING UDP CONNECTIONS AND RE ESTABLISH THEM

Then the following:

Users now are able to select which particular JT software they want to connect to and decide on what update as below.

1) decide if you want to update data using external sources (USE_EXTERNAL_DATA)
2) decide if you want to update GRIDSQUARE (UPDATE_GRIDSQUARE)
3) decide if you want to UPLOAD QSO to external sources (UPLOAD_QSO)
4) decide if you want to update CQ values (UPDATE_CQ_ITUZONE)
5) decide if you want to save a QSO through JT message (ex message12 option)

The choices 1 to 5, are they part of the installation wizard and can this only be defined during install or also
after installation?
Which ones do apply in my configuration?

The release notes only appear at the end of the installation, can this be found as text file somewhere else?

Fred,

Well, I don't know what U.G. you are looking in, but I've found several locations.

#1 Be sure you have downloaded the CURRENT User Guide that is dated: 23/03/2023 9:15 PM

#2 It will open in your preferred PDF viewer

#3 You can do any sort of search you want and I'm sure you will find something 'close'

#4 However, in case you choose not to search you can start on Page 175 and also Page 216.

#5 Both of those locations have (I'm sure) plenty of information to help solve your questions.

kay with rich's help {kd0zV) I got the udp part working and all was okay for nearly a Month. In that time I did not come back to the forum (which is a mistake) and now I am trying to catch up with what has transpired over that time. Now JTAlert will not start with the following message. What has happened over the last month to cause this?

I dont think this is related to Log4OM.

This looks like a connection issue between JtAlert and WSJT.

Make sure that WSJT is running and you have the 3 boxes checked under the UPD server and the ports set correctly per JTalerts instructions.

Do all this without Log4OM running.

Once those two programs are working together without issue than you can start Log4OM. Verify in Log4OM that you are NOT using the same UPD port you setup in JTalert and WSJT.

Help I am desperate

After several years of running smoothly and without fault and for whatever reason, the last several updates have brought me to my knees and I can not figure out how to get things back up. So I will beg for help if needed. All was good and then nothing worked. No Blame, I am not insinuating anything, I just want to get back up and running.

I use Log4om (latest version) and JTAlert (latest version) and wsJT-X (latest version) and nothing seems to work. WSJT -X will not resolve and JTAlert will not open up beyond the small window. WSJT-x seems okay, it was resolving but I have done something to torpedo that. I suspect UDP something but can not figure it out.

I believe what I need are instructions for UDP for all 3 programs that say the port numbers you used. Beyond that I will take what I can get. Please help !!
