Send spot QSX info
Send spot QSX info
When spotting a DX station, a slick feature would be for Log4OM to check for a split rig, and if found, include QSX QRG in the generated spot.

Re: Send spot QSX info
I have doubts that OMNIRIG could provide VFO2 freq and other informations suitable to detect the rig in SPLIT mode...
i'll check...
i'll check...

On Icom rigs, this will not work as you can only read the "Active/Selected" VFO. We've been down this road in the past.

Re: Send spot QSX info
Question is: Does make it sense to Spot the exact QSX ??? This will give a lot more trouble to the DX station when all callers jumping to a spotted QSX QRG .... In my eyes it´s been better if anybody only spot "UP" that the guys can use the old standards and taking a look to the split frequency where the last caller was transmitting ... I love this old school work and it brings me a lot of DX with QRP power and my simple indoor wires.

73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.
Re: Send spot QSX info
I agree. The split frequency means nothing as the DX is constantly moving his receive frequency over the range of the split.

I'd like that log4om would provide the entire spot string, not only the single text you are posting
ie. ik2egl 14.2000 VK9NS calling by number
not only the string
'calling by number' as it is now

Well... you're clicking on the spot... it's redundant... imhoik2egl wrote:on this topic

If it is technically infeasible, then we can't have it. So be it.
But the snide remarks about "old school", "useless", etc strike me as asinine. I'm about as old as they come, have been hamming for 50+ years, and I don't find it necessary to ridicule my fellow hams.
