Controlling remote antenna switch.

Post by CT1BXX »

Hi Daniele,
I would like to ask if it is possible to implement in future the possibility to control automatically an antenna switch using the parallel port, according the band we are, or when we click in a spot.
Changing the frequency, it sends information to parallel port pin, assigned to a specific band.

It would be a great function, because some of us, have manual remote switches and so, we can build a simple "Band decoder" to command the remote switch, in internet, we can found several schemas for this purpose. :D
I enclose a picture I found in internet
Thanks for your comments

Hi Manuel, what i can easily do is to make this information available outside Log4OM, as a first instance, so everyone interested in that with some programming skills can use those data to build a software that works as Log4OM companion.
Dunno how difficult is to make a complete parallel switch system from scratch... :)

nice suggestion indeed, but keep it for later times :)

Hi Daniele,
Many thanks for you comments, I am glad you found it interesting. :D

I found a website for those that do not have parallel ports.
We can do the same via USB with this device:
http://numato.com/8-channel-usb-gpio-module
There is also some tech information there.
