There is a big difference between the distance reported by WSJT-X and Log4OM.
For example, just had a JT65 QSO with the USA on a silent band (could not hear his signal - amazing mode). Log4OM reports 5961 miles and WSJT-X says 3711 miles.
Which should I trust, hi hi?

Re: Distance
I would suggest that one is Km and the others miles, have you checked for that?

Looks like Log4OM is showing Km when miles are selected.
I am logging WSJT-X 1.3 via JTAlert 2.4.0 to Log4OM.

Re: Distance
Hi Guy,
i am not shure about this so my latest work with WSJT-X is more than a year away. But could it be that there are settings in WSJT-X or JT-Alert X (which is needed for logging into L4O) are setted to km instead of miles ??? Only an idea

B.t.w. L4O got informations from 3rd party SW like JT-Alert or WSJT-X only as imported data ... I think there is no option at the moment that calculate other distances. What i mean is that a 3rd party logging imported via communicator may show KM but L4O show the same number as Miles

Re: Distance
Hi,
WSJT-X is displaying in miles. AIUI JTAlert is just a conduit for the data.
I will contact K1JT.

Re: Distance
Log4OM use ADIF standard, where distance is saved as km.
Importing an ADIF will consider distance expressed as km.
Distances are saved in km into database.
Miles are converted on the user interface based on distance calculated between two locators or from log, where all data are km.

I see now. The wording of the option in the Settings 1 tab gives the impression that 'miles' will be a global option (i.e. includes log distance) and not just confined to the interface.IW3HMH wrote:Log4OM use ADIF standard, where distance is saved as km.

Many thanks for your clarification.
