Digital LSB Modes

Post by K2RAS »

I am a little confused about Log4OM's implementation of LSB modes. I have Log4OM connected using Omnirig to current releases of FLDigi and SmartSDR running a FlexRadio. When clicking on a Log4OM 80M spot for example, the mode is passed to FLDigi as SSB and to the FlexRadio as DIGU (not LSB/DIGL). Is this working as expected? Log4OM does properly distinguish between USB/LSB voice spots.

Thanks, Ron

In addition, when the frequency is adjusted on the FlexRadio, the mode in FLDigi immediately changes to SSB, requiring an override when working in a lower-sideband frequency. FLDigi is connected using XML-RPC and all LOG4OM services seem to be running.

Would appreciate any direction.

Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron, all digital Modes loke PSK, MFSK JT65 or other soundcard related AFSK modes are always in USB mode. That is also correct in frequencies below 10 MHz .... SSTV and FSK RTTY are the only two that can be used in LSB < 10 MHz and USB >10 MHz but meanwhile those modes are also working as AFSK modes with soundcard software, so it would be better to use USB too ...... ;) ;)
