I presently have 5000 QSO's in the logbook. This is a secondary logbook for me so i wanted to update it with more QSO's from my primary log which is HRDlog. I exported several files with different dates from HRD (ADIF types) and then imported them into the Log4OM log. Nothing shows up. It tells me at the bottom of the page that there is a 5000 QSO limit. Search limit count (0 = all) 5000. This is not good. Is there actually a limit to the number of QSO's it will hold or is there a way to increase that. I actually have about 10,000 QSO's in my reg. logbook that will eventually be imported into Log4om.

Re: Logbook capacity
Change the 5000 to zero (0) and it will display all your Qs.

Re: Logbook capacity
Log4OM has no limit on the amount of QSO that can handle.
The 5000 is used only to show data in the grids (showing 100.000 qso at every refresh will produce a very slow response from user interface).
But it's only a VISUALIZATION feature. You can set it to 0 to show all QSO, but we usually don't suggest that because it's really hard to find something (and 5000 is probably too much) manually.
We have plenty of search functions that can be used to find what you need, with almost every grade of complexity.
Scrolling 100.000 QSO can be nice for your satisfation, but if you need to do that you probably should ask yourself "probably there is a better way to do that". And, in fact, there is

And changing that to 0 did work out for me. I wasn't aware that that number could be changed.
Being fairly new and only playing with this program intermittently to become familiar with it, Is there a way to search for a particular call sign without having to scroll thru the whole log in order to do an update. I find that the majority of entries i have uploaded from an ADIF file from HRD logbook does not contain all the data such as RSt reports, IOTA, QSL info. That info is in HRDlog so i'm either going to have to delete all the stuff in Log4OM and start over or go thru them one by one and do the updates manually. That my friends will indeed be a long term project, something i didn't expect to have to do.
Thanks for help.

Re: Logbook capacity
Of course there is a way, i just said it's that is not useful to have a huge number of QSO visible on screenLarry wrote:And changing that to 0 did work out for me. I wasn't aware that that number could be changed.

The fast way to search for a call is to use QSO MANAGER. there is a field where you can put the call.
For other needs there is a "search parameters" button below every table grid. Here you can put all search parameters you desire and let log4Om search data for you.
Try with the MERGE function as Terry said. I'm checking if it works for RST data too... if not... will be done in the next upcoming release.I find that the majority of entries i have uploaded from an ADIF file from HRD logbook does not contain all the data such as RSt reports, IOTA, QSL info. Hi Larry,
I suggest you watch the excellent video's which Terry has produced - here - http://www.log4om.com/category/video/
Also, a quick way to do a callsign search is to put the callsign into the Callsign field on the main program log entry section, then any qso's with that callsign will appear in the QSO Information (F7) tab, which BTW, you can detach (Detach Grid button below grid) and have as a separate window so its always visible, regardless of which tab you have active.

Re: Logbook capacity
I'll have to take a look at it. I did get the QSO's that weren't visible to finally show up by changing the number "5000" to "0" per a recommendation. I didn't really want to see all of them at once, just wanted to make sure all that i imported were actually there, and now i can see them and search thru them like i should be able to. Learned to use the QSO manager as well.
Thanks for all the help to all, program is indeed loaded with nice things once you learn where to look and how to use them. I want to see how it works for the VHF contest in contest mode, if it's an easy to use program. SInce i use mainly CW, i don't have enuff hands to do everything at once like sometimes is necessary.
BTW, i didn't see a merge function per se. I'm suspecting that it is incorporated with some other menu item than what i've discovered.
