I am at the point or rebuilding my shack after a direct lightning hit. I lost my main hf rig that I used for digital modes and now have a alinco dx-70t and it so far is not supported in any program for cat control.
OK not a huge deal I can spin knobs and input manual info. My question is does anyone have ANY ideas on how to maybe read some info from radio at all.
Next ? is if no rig control at all and it is what I feel will happen. can I still intergrate fldigi or dm780 logs to log4om software. if I can get fldigi working with this program I be happier as it is so much nicer log program then built in logbook and just offers what I need for qsl cards and such.
can log4om be used in manual mode to read a exported adif or auto read the log from fldigi and not worry at all about rig control.
I did not see a manual setting in either program to do much. fldigi does work using the signalink and manual tune radio is all I have to do. I can put in freq numbers into fldigi and wish the log4 to read the fldigi logbook and import that info directly over typing it manually 2 times. ??
I hope somebody understands what I just typed cause I do not know how to describe what I wish to do.
use fldigi and its log to read qrz and load it into log4o program auto is all.

Re: ALINCO DX-70T TO WORK WITH LOG4OM
Hi Fred,
Yes you can make Log4OM read the Fldigi logbook and save each QSO you make to the Log4OM database just follow the instructions in the Log4OM user guide to set this up.
Yes you can import a DM780 and a FLdigi logbook into log4OM just export an ADIF from each program and then import them into Log4OM
I did hear that some owners of the Alinco rig managed to get CAT control by using a Kenwood set up, perhaps a Google search might help?

thanks for the answer about cat control. I will dig it out and find the answers then I will put itin a file and send it to you for your setup page or faq or where ever you can use it then. ]
I use a signalink so maybe I can pull something from that link cable even, the mic and all are exactly the same as my 570dg was, BUT I need to find out more on how to make a seporate cable maybe to hook to the nic and signalink and use that data from there better. I know if I put a dtmf mic on there I can do up and down freq at least and some basic things and thats allI really would like to get done auto as my hands hurt after 3-4 qso's and typing so if I can minimize it I will take every auto thing I can use right now. cant wait for the kenwood to get back though then it be easy to do it all. I still weant a compl;ete setup on the alinco to work also as i t is my backup system and may need it later on for emmcomm needs also via remote or even better yet mobile if I need to with laptop.
Just a few basic commands like reading freq and changing the freq would be all I like right now and be a happy camper.
thanks for fast answer.
best support I ever had so far for any progman. it is nice to see free ware still going strong with a team like you have and folks that just enjoy what your doing. If I get it all working I know a donation will follow. just have to wait till I get paid again. 1 time a month suckls.
THANKS A MILLION FOR REPLY AGAIN

Signalink does not do CAT Control for frequency and mode control just audio for data transmissions
