Log4OM

I just notice a strange behavior with my Log4OM program today. First I'm running Ver. 1.22.0.0, now the problem is when I go to enter info into the Comment or Note section in the QSO info section the program shuts down. Even after a station has been logged, if I go to edit a QSO and try to enter any info in the Address, QTH, Comments or Note sections the program will just shut down.

The problem seems to appear only in the QSO info (F1) tab section. I can enter info in Extended info & QSL (F5) section with no problem. Also I can log and save the QSO with no problem, it's just when inputting info into the QSO info section/tab.

Any ideas guys?

Update, I still don't know what the problem was, but I upgraded to Win 10 today and the problem went away. Everything works just fine again in Win 10. So there you go. 73

I am also having the same problem. I just update the program about 2 weeks ago. I was way behind on updates and I am now at the current level 1.22. I am working on a Dell Laptop Latitude E6410 with Win 7 Pro 64bit. I can type in the Comment box, but when I click on the Note box, I see a box pop up that says the program had a problem and will shut down, and it does. Just noticed this last night for the first time, but I had not had time to use the program for a while since I updated. I have done several updates from Microsoft in the past week or so. Just thought I would pass along that I am seeing the same problem. Thanks for such a great program. Kevin Scrogham KD0KDJ.

Do a backup of your logbook

Uninstall the program

Restart your computer

Download version 1.22 again

Install the software ensuring that you install with administrator priveledges

Then report if the issue remains

I followed your instructions and reinstalled the program.
Seems to be working. I used the program tonight while chasing after a few Katrina 10th Anniversary Special Event stations.
Worked each time with no problems tonight.

It worked for a couple of days. I just had it start doing a very similar problem. I can now click in the "Note" box and it does not close
right away like it did before. But as soon as I start trying to type any text is shows a box saying it had a problem and will look for a solution, then closes the program down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled again, same problem. I will double check your previous instructions to see if I followed them correctly. Have to hit the rack early tonight so may be a while before I can do any serious testing. Thanks. Kevin.

This sounds like a malware attack, try MalwareBYTES

Also it would help if you let us know exactly what the error message says!

Terry, I'm having the same issue also. I've un-installed 1.22 and re-installed. Still have the problem. I type in either the address box or the notes box and the first key stroke crashes Log4. Didn't have this issue till 1.22. I can paste text into these boxes..just can't type into them.
I attached a screenshot of the error when it crashes.

OH yeah forgot to add I'm running WIN7 64 bit.
