Hello,
I am running Windows 7 Pro. The Log4OM is V 1.23.0.0
In short, I installed Log4OM several months back without difficulty. I was impressed with the program and used it to log in several contacts after which I became inactive. Then, recently I installed a new antenna and became active again. However, when I attempted to access Log4OM via the shortcut, I got a page that I did not recognize. After several tries with the same result, I concluded that a file had become corrupted and did an uninstall that I thought went forward OK. I then tried to reinstall the program. The result is that Log4OM no longer appears in the list of programs in Control Panel/Uninstall or change a program. Nevertheless, in the folder Program Files (x86) there is a folder IW3HMH in which there are a number of dlls and a LogOMUI.exe.
Now, when I press the shortcut or click the execute file I get the following sequence:
1) Could not find file C:\Administrator\Appdata\Roaming\LogOM\resourcesrtings.xml.
2) Warning: String ErrorLoadingIOTA is not available for language en-US…
Could not find file C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\LogOM\iotaDB.xml
3) Then I get a screen Log4OM [User Profile: New Configuration]
I have to use Windows Task Manger/End Task in order to get out of the screen.
Very grateful for advice.
Jim

Re: Uninstall-Reinstall Problem
Have you got a folder at location:
C:\users\YOUR USER NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Logom
This folder should contain many folders and files with a .txt or .xml extension
Check if there is a file called config.xml
Also if there is a folder called 'Backup' see if there are any files in it similar to
20160103165434_config.xml
and
20160103165434_Name.adi (Where name might be your call sign or my logbook or logbook etc)
You might also like to search your computer for the database file which will probably be 'Name'.SQLite (Where name might be your call sign or my logbook or logbook etc)
Just search for *.SQLite (Star dot SQLite) when searching for the above.
Once you let me have that information I will be able to describe your next course of action

Re: Uninstall-Reinstall Problem
Terry,
Many thanks for your reply.
Folders at C:\users\Administrator\Appdata\Roaming\Logom are Backup, log, and temp
config.xml is in in the root, LogOM
The Folder Backup contains 7 files similar to 20160103165434_config.xml
Among the *.adi files there is 20150508162736_LogOM logbook.adi
I searched all of C: for *SQLlite, but it was not found

Re: Uninstall-Reinstall Problem
OK we can recover from this without too much trouble
You have a choice
1. Install team viewer so that I can do the work on your computer remotely
2. If like the last user that I tried to help your nervous about the security aspects of me working on your computer then install Skype with speakers and mic or headset and I will guide you through the the process of repair verbally

Re: Uninstall-Reinstall Problem
I have no reservations about you taking on the repair remotely and I have installed team viewer. I am keen to see your solution.
I will check here tomorrow about 12:00 GMT to see what time slot will suit you.
Thanks agn for your time and effort

Re: Uninstall-Reinstall Problem
Problem resolved and Log4OM reinstalled OK during a Teamviewer session
There was an old config backup we could use in the backup folder
