DM-780/HRD LOgbook QSO Forwarding

Post by kc2nyu »

Hi - it's me , the Newbe back again with a question concerning DM-780 qsos logged to HRD Logbook and then being auto transferred to Log4OM. I am using HRD v6.3.0.501 and Log4OM v1.24.0.0on a win 7 64 bit PC. I have read through the comments in User support on this subject and followed the instructions in the Log4OM manual starting on page 184 regarding setting up DM-780 and Log4OM Communicator. However when I log a qso from DM780 in the HRD Logbook it is not appearing in Log4OM Recent Qso's. I tried refreshing and then restarting but the DM780 qso, that did show up in HRD Logbook, does not appear in Log4OM Recent QSO's (f8).

Any suggestions on where to look for the common errors one may make setting this up??

The DM780/Log4OM support guide was written when HRD Version 5 was still available and at that time there were two methods of interfacing Log4OM with DM780 and HRD logbook.

As a result after a very short time HRD LLC disabled one of those integration methods, so we were left with the method described in the Log4OM user guide. This is why we integrate with FLDigi!

However I cannot confirm whether with the latest versions of Paid for HRD it will still work, perhaps another user can help?

Terry - I went back and re read the LOg4OM User Manual and I had made two mistakes
1) In the Communicator - Inbound Settings- I had checked ADIF Polling and filled in a file destination, on page 185 is shows I didn't need that. So I unchecked that.
2) Also in the DM780 Program Options page I had added an s to localhost, so I removed it.

So I made another PSK31 qso in DM780. It was logged in HRD Logbook, and when I checked Log4OM, the new PSK31 QSO was there.

So I can report that the one way left to set up Log4OM to interface with DM780 v6.3.0.501 does in fact work.

Problem solved
