Hello all, I have a Ten Tec Orion 1 (565) and can't get it to work with Log4OM. I'm running Omnirig and using a DB9 serial cable from the radio to my computer. My computer has a serial card installed.
The Orion will connect to my other logging program, AC Log but will not connect using Log4OM any ideas? Anyone else using an Orion?
Everything works perfect with my Kenwood TS-950SDX and Log4OM. Just can't get it to work with the Ten Tec Orion.
Thanks,
Dale, KD5UVV

Re: Ten Tec Orion 1 won't connect.
90% of the time these connection issues are due to a com port or baud rate mismatch
Ensure that the radio baud rate matches the Omnirig baud rate setting
Ensure that the correct com port is selected in Omnirig and also the stop bits are set correctly
I assume that the serial cable is OK and that its not a Null modem cable?

Hello Terry, no it's not a null cable. (thru cable). I've checked the things you mention and everything is set correct. Still no connection. Going to try a FTDI USB to serial cable if I can find one. Thanks for the input. 73

Well Terry, not sure what I did, but everything is working now with the Orion. Maybe I had to reboot the computer and the radio. Thanks for the help. And just in case someone else needs the settings. This is what I'm using and it's working with the Ten Tec Orion 1 (565)
Baud rate - 57600
Data bits - 8
Parity - None
Stop bits - 1

If it aint broke don't fix it!
However you would be best to use Omnirig because other programs like CW Skimmer, Bandmaster, SDR-Radio etc. will synchronise with Omnirig also and its a much more stable platform than Hamlib
