Cluster / QSO start time

Firstly, many thanks to the team for an excellent product. I switched from HRD Log in June and am really loving Log4OM, and eagerly looking forward to V2. There is one issue that constantly catches me out though, and I can't figure out how to solve it:
If I click on a spot on the cluster list, the QSO window is populated but the rig isn't tuned to the station. The QSO clock isn't started until I tab out of the callsign field (I do have that option checked in Settings 2). Perfect.
If I double-click on the spot, the QSO info is populated and the rig IS tuned to the station. Also perfect. However, at this point the QSO clock is started immediately but I haven'gt even had a chance to try calling the station yet, so if I do eventually make the contact I have to manually fix the start time.
I've checked all the options and setting (I think) and I haven't found an obvious way to not start the clock until I tab out of the callsign field after a double-click. What have I missed ?
