My friend, OM3IM, yesterday downloaded and installed Log4om. This is his very first experience with logging software. He is considering moving his QSOs from paper log books to Log4om, but wonders about the best approach.
His current call sign is OM3IM, but in his younger years he used to be OM3TIR, and before Czechoslovakia was deleted as a DXCC entity he was OK3TIR. Is there a way for him to manage all three of his call signs in such a way that the software would keep track of his DXCC countries worked/confirmed for all three calls signs combined?
How do people set up Log4om for multiple call signs?

Re: Best way to manage old and new call signs in Log4om
The fact that his own call became deleted when his home country was deleted from the DXCC list does not affect the countries he has worked outside Czecheslovakia and therefore it will not make any difference to his award statistics.
All he needs to do is remember to change his station call sign details in the options to record the correct station call like OM3TIR, OK3TIR and OM3IM when he adds the QSO's for each call.
Now he will have one log with all QSO's and Log4OM will calculate the statistics for all QSO's regardless of his station call sign. he will however be able to search and sort on each Station call sign.
He could set up three different profiles and logbooks but that way he would not be able to do a collective statistics report.

Terry, thanks! That's perfect, and it is simpler than I thought it would be. I thought the only way was to set up three profiles, but that wouldn't exactly accomplish what he wanted.G4POP wrote:All he needs to do is remember to change his station call sign details in the options to record the correct station call like OM3TIR, OK3TIR and OM3IM when he adds the QSO's for each call.

Just one more question, to be 100% certain he does it the correct way.
In SETTINGS > OPTIONS > STATION INFO, there are 4 possible places where he can change his call sign:
- STATION CALL SIGN
- OPERATOR CALL SIGN
- PROFILE DESCRIPTION
- OWNER CALLSIGN
Where does he need to change it? Is just the STATION CALL SIGN enough? Should he change also the OPERATOR CALL SIGN?

To be sure I suggest he changes
Station
Operator
Owner
Don't worry about the profile name it's not an ADIF field
He might also need to change his Locator if he has moved QTH and of course the country will indicate deleted in respect to the old Czecheslovakia call sign
