update QRZ logs current date in LoTW sent

Post by W0OGH »

Is this a correct procedure? When i do a QRZ update at the end of the operating day i notice that it puts in the current date in the LoTW Sent date column. Not a problem, just curious? I do the update to QRZ.com because none of the QSO's show that QRZ.com was notified of the QSO. I think that data is being sent shortly after the QSO but there is no indication of that. When that happens automatically, is it supposed to mark QRZ.COM as uploaded? It doesn't so am i not doing something to see that column being marked so. Or is that normal operating procedure?
Thanks

Larry,

Appears from your post that you might not have things properly set up for auto-upload of Q's. Take a few moments and watch Terry's YouTube videos about setting up confirmations in Log4OM V2.

If you have things set up to 'auto-upload' it can happen at slightly different times based upon the external service (IE: QRZ, LOTW, eQSL, etc., etc.). LOTW is the one that won't auto-upload until you close the V2 application. The other services auto-upload within moment of making the QSO. There is a bit of a pause to give you time to cancel the send in case it was a mistake or you needed to make changes.

If you have the confirmations properly set up in your configuration once the Q has been uploaded (whether via auto or manual upload) the appropriate column will reflect the value you choose for noting it was sent under the appropriate column for that service.

Again ... there is a lot of good information in the User Guide. Make sure you have done a force download to get the current version of the UG. It has been known to have been updated several times in a week.

Also Terry has two videos dedicated to confirmations that will help you as well.
