<SOTA_REF:0> ADIF Import

Post by HB9DBM »

Hello

I Use a Log Programm on a Tablet for SOTA Activiations.
I import the generated ADIF Files from ths Log into LOG4OM.

The problem:
This Log Program generates this ADIF Tag when the station is NOT on a SOTA Ref:
<SOTA_REF:0>

Sample ADIF :

<adif_ver:5>3.0.5
<programid:15>Portable Logger
<programversion:3>1.0
<EOH>
<CALL:8>HB9III<QSO_DATE:8>20200508<TIME_ON:4>0844<MY_SOTA_REF:9>HB/AG-012<FREQ:8>7.059000<BAND:3>40m<OPERATOR:6>HB9DBM<STATION_CALLSIGN:8>HB9DBM/P<SOTA_REF:0><MODE:2>CW<NAME:5>Heinz<QTH:0><TX_PWR:2>10<RST_RCVD:3>599<RST_SENT:3>599<QSLMSG:30>Tnx for QSO. SOTA = HB/AG-012<EOR>

LOG4OM then generates an empty (invalid) SOTA Award Ref, see attached Picture.

I consider this a bug, could this be fixed pleae?

Many Thanks in advance

Your adif does not contain the correct SOTA reference in the field it should have a 'SOTA_REF' field as shown in the example ADIF record below with a reference.

Had the reference in your QSL message field been in the COMENTS field Log4OM could have possibly spotted it but it cant work miracles

Strange that your software manages to export a correct MY_SOTA REF field but does not include a completed SOTA_REF field, perhaps point out the error to your program provider?

Meanwhile I will move this thread to user support because its not our error or a 'BUG' in Log4OM

Hi there,

Sorry to insist, but there IS an SOTA Ref Tag, but it is emtpy:

See?

<SOTA_REF:0>

And that is exactly the problem:

If this Tag exists, why does LOG4OM import this Tag and assign an empty SOTA Ref ???

Simply do not import SOTA_Ref if it is empty, say :0

<CALL:8>HB9III<QSO_DATE:8>20200508<TIME_ON:4>0844<MY_SOTA_REF:9>HB/AG-012<FREQ:8>7.059000<BAND:3>40m<OPERATOR:6>HB9DBM<STATION_CALLSIGN:8>HB9DBM/P<SOTA_REF:0><MODE:2>CW<NAME:5>Heinz<QTH:0><TX_PWR:2>10<RST_RCVD:3>599<RST_SENT:3>599<QSLMSG:30>Tnx for QSO. SOTA = HB/AG-012<EOR>

So we note the field but don't have a reference to use

Get the program provider to fix his adif export routine!
