Statistics Panel Update on Call Entry

One thing I miss (unless I'm not using it correctly) is being able to enter a callsign I've just heard (not from the cluster) and having the "statistic panel" show me whether this is a needed band/mode. It works fine with cluster spots, but when DXing to catch the rare ones before the pileup this is a needed tool. Note in the pic below I've entered a KL7 call but that entry doesn't update the "statistics panel" even after I've tabbed out of the callsign entry field.
(EDIT: I realize the panel to the right of the callsign field will indicate new band, new mode, or "new one," but I find the statistics panel to be a very quick way to see where I am with that entity and if I have the opportunity to move him to a new band or mode, where it would be. Maybe I'm used to seeing the other format from previous loggers.) Thanks.
