It has been reported numerous times that the contest mode is sluggish. In particular, a double click on a cluster response often does nothing or it takes a rather long time for the call to propagate to the contest window. I've noticed that often, the call will propagate to the contest call box quickly however, there is a long pause waiting for information to be downloaded, perhaps from QRZ, before the CALL is checked to see if it is ALREADY WORKED.
In my opinion, there is no need to wait for information to be downloaded. What I want to know ASAP is if the CALL selected from the cluster is a station already worked. All the information needed to do this is available and there doesn't seem to be a need to wait for any downloaded info.

Re: Contest mode sluggishness
During a contest on line lookups can take a long time due to the high demand so best to disable the lookup if it causes you problems during a contest.
