When I shut down, the splash screen remains on indicating nothing is being uploaded to LoTW
Can only remove the shutdown screen by right clicking on the icon and selecting close app

The splash indicating something is being uploaded to LOTW is because you have selected: "Automatic upload on application close"

That tic box is located at: Settings / Configuration / External Services / LOTW

It is the bottom item on that LOTW tab.

If it continues to hang up it is likely due to you not using the most current version of Log4OM: v2.23.0.0 And (very important) the most current version of TQSL.

Screen clip below shows the current TQSL version.

I do have the latest TQSL and LOG4OM2 as you indicated

So I unticked the config LOTW auto upload on shut down
and see what happens

I do have 5 station locations in TQSL - so I'll try to just do a manual export and upload

Jim,

No export needed to upload directly to any of the external services. Just go to QSL Manager and select LOTW in the green colored window with drop-down selections.

You tap the "Select Required" button, then (once the filed is filled) you tap the "Upload selected QSO" and off it goes to LOTW.

Here is the URL to 1 of 3 videos Terry has done on Confirmations. This video goes over the upload and download via QSL Manager.
