LOTW Upload failing

First, let me say THANKS! to Terry and the others who support Log4OM. I don't need help often, but when I do they are a big help.

Now to the problem. I just moved my installations over to a new Windows 11 PC, and most things have moved well and are working well. I used the ARRL steps to move the TQSL certificates, etc., to the new machine, and they all look correct when queried from the TQSL forms. However, when I try to upload to LOTW it fails with the message shown in the attached image.

I have double-checked the "station location" in the certificate and it is correct and has not changed. I queried the LOTW help desk and their answer was not helpful, but pointed to Log4OM being a possible problem. I'm sure if it was, there would be many complaining. Does anyone have any idea what this failure points to?

Duane,

With all the APP moves to the new PC with W11 there is some little thing causing the hiccup.

First off make sure your TQSL is working FB. Export an ADIF from Log4OM (I would select for this test about 2 Q's).

Take that exported ADIF and do an upload to LOTW directly via TQSL. See what result you get from that effort.

If good then go back into Log4OM and check out Configuration / External Services / LOTW and make sure everything you have entered there is spotless ;) . IE: Make sure your TQSL and Temporary Paths are exact. Also make sure your Station ID is properly noted ... spelled correctly, uppercase, lowercase, etc., etc..

Doing the test with TQSL first confirms that element is working or not. If it is working then double-down on the entries in Log4OM for LOTW / TQSL.

Thanks, Nolan - excellent suggestion. I had confirmed that the TQSL was working properly on the new PC and thought that when I moved all the settings for Log4OM from the old PC that all settings were set. However, under "User Configuration | External Services | LOTW, the "Station ID" setting was left blank, and should have had the "AC5AA-Home" setting selected. Once I corrected that. all worked fine. Thanks for the pointer! Now it looks like I'd better scan through all the other settings and see if anything else is missing.

One suggestion for those of us not using the portable version would be to include a "Backup All Settings" kind of function to make these moves easier. Just a thought.

The config.json file included in the backup zip does include all settings!

I have a similar problem and was questioning what to fill in for Station ID.
As this was not given in the TQSL certificate.
Where do I find this info?

Information for this noted at LOTW's site: https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw-help/stnloc/

Hello Nolan,

Indeed, I forgot to define the station ID in TQSL.
But looks like I still cannot get is working.
What should I supposed to see?
I selected a QSO changed QSL information into LotW send: requested.
Then pushed upload button.
But nothing happens. At least I do not see the QSO appearing in LotW : My QSO’s.
Neither see that TQSL is activated, while I did put the correct string to the .exe of TQSL in Log4OM.

Hopefully you can give some guidance?

Jan,

Below is a screen clip of my LOTW settings.

The Temporary Path is a path that you select of your choosing to keep LOTW related files when it comes to LOTW/TQSL, etc..

You can use the 'folder' button to search/select the locations.

I do not use a TQSL Private Password.

I also do not use the "Requested" option, but that is just a person choice that each of us can choose to use or not. Reason that is available is due to the ADIF standards. I'm old fashioned and my old spiral bound logbook simply had (and still does have) a simple "yes" or "no" for sent and/or received. I choose to use that method in Log4OM as well.

Also ... if you have not yet done so take the time to watch the 3 Y/T videos that Terry created about "Confirmations". It goes through the whole process related to uploads/downloads and using Yes/No/Requested, etc..

Nolan,

That is exactly what I did.
But: What should I see while I tryto upload.
Will TQSL start up, on my screen? For example.

No ... it all happens behind the scenes. If you are using QSL Manager (LOTW) then various Log4OM windows will open as it processes for uploads and downloads.
The TQSL APP does NOT pop into any visible appearance when uploading Q's to LOTW.
