I am currently using version 2.5.0.0 and would like to update to the latest version. Are the databases compatible? Will I need to export an ADIF before the update?

Simply install the new V 2.28.0.0 update. D/B are always compatible.

Just as with any program updates do a 'backup' just to ensure it is recent. Click on File / Execute Backup.

Make sure you read all the Release Notes. If you happen to use the FTxx mode(s) you will need to delete and rebuild your UDP Inbound Connections. That was noted with the V 2.27.00 release. Lele did a major change with the UDP Inbound connections that necessitated we OMs delete and rebuild the connections.

There are also many threads about that and many OMs who chose to not read the Release Notes about that change. It is also we noted in the "current" User Guide.
