Flashing Mode & s/r Signal Report

Hello,

I made a short video showing the problem.

My setup is Win 10, Yaesu FT-950, US Navigator (now Timewave) interface and I'm using Omni-Rig. It flashes between USB (which the rig is set at) and FT8 via WSJT-X.

Any reason why this is happening?

Thanks & 73.

I have been having similar issue ( flashing rst boxes ) and mode ( between ft8 and ft4 )

no firm answers have solved it, other tha reverting back to 2.26.0.0 so something changed.

I think it was to make rst changeable on logging

i think it has to do with band listing, due to the frequency of the radio , it does not know what made is correct

Terry,

Do you get same flashing condition when you set things up for CW or SSB?

Or ... just the FTxx modes?

Similar comments have been made as Dave has again noted.

We still haven't found it, but are aware and looking.

Hi Nolan,

With only Log4OM running (no WSJT-X or Grid Tracker) I get the flashing when I'm on an FT8 or FT4 frequency. As soon as I dial off these frequencies the flashing goes away.

Hope this helps.

Terry,

Tnx for the additional input. I just tried similar. Log4OM "only" connected via USB port to my K3 and dialed to FT8 frequency and I did not experience any 'flashing'.

I'm also using Omnirig and i've attached my CAT settings in Log4OM. Dunno if any button tweak in that setup is affecting the FTxx flashing situation or not.

May be "rig" related as well, but not sure as of yet.

Hi Nolan,

Tried your settings and still got the flashing.

It's not a show stopper as all I have to do is lock FT8 in l4om.

Stay cool down there Nolan. Crazy wx.

I encounter this in FT4 mode only, noting that if I move the VFO say 10 hertz off the progammed frequency in JTDX the flashing stops.

The Mode dropdown on the main GUI flashes between FT4/FT8. As mentioned by Terry if I lock the FT4 as the mode it fixes the issue.

Using v2.28.0.0, OmniRig, FTDX10.

Wonder if this is related only to Yaesu rigs ... or at the least "rig specific"?

As noted I'm not experiencing same with my K3 and Terry is also not experiencing same with his SunSDR2 rig either.

We'll keep digging.

Not with my Icom radios either

Possibly radio specific, no issue with Yaesu FT-991A only Yaesu FTDX-10, but was not a problem on earlier Log4OM iterations.
