Log4OM

I back up my PC data to a removable drive using a windows batch file. It uses Windows' RoboCopy utility to copy any new or changed data from select directories. My Documents is always backed up, and my database is in Log4OM folder under there. I also have Log4OM v.2 doing an automatic backup to Dropbox at each session. It appears to send two files to Dropbox. The latest examples are:
KD7MW_20240131_101440_backup.adi
KD7MW_20240131_101440_config.json

Is this sufficient, or am I missing something? I just noticed that in my batch file, I was at one time also backing up C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Daniele_Pistollato_IW3HMH
...but this folder no longer exists. I assume that folder now obsolete, right? Did that data move to another location that I also need to back up, or is it covered with what I'm already backing up? I've used Log4OM since 2018, so I've gone from Version 1 to current, and from Windows 7 to 10, and then to a new PC with Windows 11, and it's hard to keep track of exactly what came from where...

Why dont you use the included backup system it saves the relevent data

Hi, Terry. I believe I am using Log4OM's built-in backup system. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. See the attachment. My batch file is just a general PC-wide backup that copies new/changed data to an external drive.

If this is sufficient, great. I haven't been checking the "Database backup" box, which would mean I'd have to rebuild it from the ADIF backup. I can certainly check that box. I should probably check the Zip backup box, too, as it would save space.

Seems like you have backups of backups and possibly more backups.

Backups are good, don't get me wrong, but don't overthink it.

I have my main backup going to a folder on my SSD and I have a secondary backup (copy of the main backup) going to my Dropbox folder. Having the adi and json backups are all that are necessary and make it easy to restore should such be needed.

Personally, I don't feel the need to us the zip version or the sqlite version.

I would suggest setting backup rotation somewhat hight, say 10 if you have storeage space for 10 zip files
