Erreurs ...

Post by F6FLU »

Hello
With version 2.32.1.0 I find that I have a lot of problems with the CQ and ITU zones, there are a lot of errors
and also with YJ0TT : Log4om gives me USA as country while it is Vanuatu
A file update that didn't happen correctly here?
Thanks

Dan,

That version seemed to resolve the CQ & ITU zone issue.

Did you scan through this Topic about the issue and the Alpha Release that Lele provided?

Hello Nolan
Yes I followed Lele's information with the Alpha version but here I am with the official version V 2.32.1.0 and I think that poses a lot of problems.
I did the Russian contest this weekend (I'm looking for to improve my "RDA") but there are many CQ/ITU zone errors
I think Lele will watch these Problem again
Thanks Nolan

I'm using 2.32.1.0 and, using manual input, I can confirm there are many zone errors. For example, G4POP shows CQ zone 1 and ITU 2. I have "Use Clublog database" and "Use CTY database" checked.

Jim,

And (using same release) a manual entry of G4POP shows ITU-27 and CQ-14 on my installation.

QRZ.com is prime lookup and I also have Clublog & CTY enabled.

Go figure ??

Nolan,

I don't use lookups, because I work POTA stations, and the info returned from the lookup might not always be correct. Even if they aren't doing POTA, they might not be at their home QTH. A station could listed in Florida CQ 5, for example, but be operating in Texas CQ 4. I do have my Info providers configuration checked to Use Clublog database and Use CTY database. Even without any of those, CQ zones can be determined from the country in many cases. Not all cases, of course. My suggestion is for Log4OM to use the zone for the country of operation, if possible. G4 is Zone 14 and JA2 is Zone 25. Of course that doesn't work in all cases, so then Log4OM would need to use another source if available. If the zone can be determined from another source, then use that source. If not, don't log any zone - leave it blank. The same comment could apply to grid squares states, counties, etc, as well.

I just changed my Info providers to use QRZ as my primary source, and HAMQTH as my failsafe source. I still got incorrect zones for G4POP. His name, address and grid did come through correctly, however.

Jim,

When you click the test button to the right of the QRZ password in Info Providers do you see a green check mark by the user name?

I ask because it seems there is something odd with your QRZ lookup for you not to get the correct results, Nolan and now I have both tested and its working for us!
