Main window not showing all info...

Hello all, well I got the cat up and working again but still can't get red line path to show from my station to the station on the Grey line map that I'm working. And the beam heading info is not showing either. No Distance, Short path or Long path. Nothing shows it's all blank.

Everything else works but these things. I've gone over the Log4OM manual and can't find anything where I can turn these features on. Did I miss it somewhere? Any help

Just a note, everything used to work fine. But after having computer trouble, (had to change serial port board) lost cat control and all the other things listed above. I've got the cat working and talking with my rig now. But still can't resolve the above problems. Any insight?

There is nowhere to turn these functions on or off.

The station connecting line and short/long path information is determined from the the grid references, your grid reference that you insert in the option/station info tab and the grid reference of the call sign entered into the call sign field of the QSO entry area of the main window.

Points to watch for!

1. QRZ lookup does not provide a grid reference unless you pay money for a subscription.
2. Sometimes no grid reference is available even with a paid QRZ subscription or the free HAMQTH lookup because the call sign owner has not provided it.
3. Ensure that you have your user name and password correctly entered in the Log4om options for QRZ and/or HamQTH

Other possibilities

1. Have you tried an uninstall, new download and reinstall of Log4om?

Thanks for getting back to me Terry, I have a paid account with QRZ.com and I've also rechecked and re-entered the passwords for both HamQTH and QRZ.com sites in the log. I'm running the latest version of Log4OM ver. 1.17.1.0 well that's what it says when I check for new release. I might have to do a reinstall of the program itself as you say.

And like a mentioned, everything was working great until the surge to my computer damaged the serial board. I guess I could just copy an export of my log to my computer then delete the program and then re-install Log4OM and then add my import my log back into the program right?

Dale,
No need for that!

Of course make a back up before doing anything just in case something goes wrong!

However when you uninstall Log4om using the uninstaller that we provide or from Windows control panel only the program is uninstalled not your logbook or configuration files.

When you have uninstalled/installed the program should start as normal and your old log and settings will be used.

My guess is that the surge damaged some files and that caused this problem, a reinstall should fix it

Well Terry I found the problem my friend and it was all my fault.

First I had entered the wrong CQ area, I had (5) but it should have been (4), so I changed that. Then I did not have my Locator filled-in in the settings. After I entered my locator, everything is playing perfect as before. Everything is showing up as it should.

Sorry for taking your time up, but hey you guys have great service and a wonderful Logging Program. Hope this post may be able to help someone else in the future. Again Thanks so much for the help my friend. 73
