QSL World integration possible?

Post by DO9KW »

Hello,

I want to ask if an integration to/with "QSL World" would be possible in the future?
https://qslworld.com/

Since some weeks I got several E-Mails with eQSLs from QSL World.com
The nice thing is that it uses AI and the QRZ.com API.
Soon it will also be possible to send QSLs directly from QRZ.com
maybe this platform will become a nice alternative to the outdated and sometimes low performing eQSL.cc page with its old designs.

what is your opinion on that?

Those sort of confirmations are not valid for ARRL DXCC awards and others so what value is there to adding it?

Hi Terry,

thanks for your reply.
Counter question: Is this the same with eQSL.cc because it is connected to Log4OM.
If eQSL.cc confirmations are valid for ARRL DXCC what must be done that QSL World will also be valid?
On the other hand an integration would be nice not for ARRL DXCC awards but for automatically upload QSOs to QSL World, like it is the case with eQSL.cc

eqsl are not valid for ARRL DXCC awards either they are included because historically all logging programs support them

There is a lot of reactions from many hams who object to the unsolicited QSL World emails which are now reaching epic numbers and becoming a nuisance so I will not reccomend Log4OM adding to this problem.

I know what you mean..
I get around 2-3 Mails per day which is not much compared to HAMs that are active much more..
My "idea" was that a logging program could intercept these mails somehow, that you only get them via Log4OM but I can also understand you that Log4OM will not add to this problem.
Maybe there is a possibility to prevent these masses of E-Mail somehow but I guess that you have to register on that page to do so.

I can technically "read" your email by connecting to your provider, but technically Log4Om will be able to "read and parse" (with programmed skills, far from I.A. or similar capabilities) all your incoming emails, including personal, financiary data and everything else that will go through your email.

Even if (and it's working that way) Log4OM doesn't send your data outside without your consent (external provider integration, eqsl, lotw and similar) i don't like having code that is able to access, download, parse your personal email for a couple of reasons including the fact i don't want to be responsible of any kind of issue that may happen on your email flow, even if not caused by Log4OM itself :-)
