Hi,
I am using a paid subscription on QRZ.COM
Transmissions are done from my main house and from another shack.
Everything is well transferred to QRZ.COM (from the 2 stations), but I am unable to sync the local database with the contacts (present on QRZ.com) stored on the second shack.
Is there a procedure to automatically download from QRZ.COM any missing QSO stored on the web ?
Maybe one solution would be to use a database that is synchronized by something like Dropbox, but I would prefer not to install Dropbox on the second PC.
If somebody could help me, it would be highly appreciated
Thanks and sincerely

Re: Two shacks databases synchronization
A shared database located in Dropbox is the ideal answer
Use qsl manager to download and update qrz stuff

Hi Jerry
Many thanks for your answer.
Do you have any idea on a trick to “merge” the two local databases or do I need to reset them and download the contacts from QRZ.com ?
Anyway, congratulations for the wonderful software that is Log4OM. I just can’t imagine the number of hours spent to develop this huge tool.
Thanks a lot for all that
Sincerely
Patrick

Easy just export an ADIF file from one database and import it into the other
PLease be sure that the Owner, station and operator calls in the data are correct so that you can filter the database properly

Re: Two shacks databases synchronization
Hi,
Really sorry to be so dumb, but :
- the QSO count isn’t the same as the count in the local database (even after a “database maintenance” action)
- I don’t see any way to change the place where the database is stored (it is in my “documents” folder)
So
- How can I sync the local database with QRZ.com to have the same QSO count
- How can I move the database containing folder (i.e. //dropbox/Log4OM/) or backslash
- What is the best thing to do when I come to my second shack and want to sync all the QSO database
I looked at the “QSO Manager” or “QSL Manager” utilities and didn’t found any way to do this task
Sorry again for my stupidity
Hopping that I don’t take too much of your time and that you can help me
Sincerely
Pat

Please explain exactly where your seeing these numbers, I dont understand.
- I don’t see any way to change the place where the database is stored (it is in my “documents” folder)
The database is where you decided to locate it when you created it - You can see the path to the database in the bottom right hand corner of the main program window or in the program config/database menu.
- How can I sync the local database with QRZ.com to have the same QSO count
Sounds like a duplicate QSO issue, without seeing the two databases I can only guess so more info please, which database has most QSO's?
- How can I move the database containing folder (i.e. //dropbox/Log4OM/) or backslash
Once you know where you stored the database sqlite file just copy and paste it to the dropbox location you made. By copying instead of moving you still have the original in case you have brutworst fingers

- What is the best thing to do when I come to my second shack and want to sync all the QSO database
Install Dropbox on the second computer then got to program config/database - navigate to the database file that you have just copied to dropbox and select it - Save and apply
Surprisingly all of this and more are in our user guide and in the 21 Youtube tutorials that I provided

Re: Two shacks databases synchronization
Sorry Terry - Not Jerry -
I will take the time to look at the YouTube help and dive into the user manual.
It is always one of the many drawbacks at being an engineer, I always try before read….
It was just not possible for me to change the database location.
And for the number of QSO the difference was that the number given by QRZ.COM was bigger than the count in Log4OM.
Really sorry for everything, I’m a pure analogic designer, far, very far from C++ coding. I never gone over assembler in the first wireless mice for Logitech….
Thanks for your kindness and sorry for the loss of time
All the best to you and thanks again for the wonderful piece of software you have created.
Sincerely yours
Pat

I think that QRZ may have duplicates so check that first and once your sure I would delete the QRZ database and do a full upload from the Log4OM QSL manager to QRZ, that should resolve it.
Why could you not move the database?
