I Am new to LOG4OM. I installed it today. Very nice so far. I have only explored the log book part and have a question...
I think I have everything installed and configured correctly. I can enter log entries. QRZ lookup works fine. It is very easy to use and fast so much appreciated.
I get "out of band" errors on 40m and 80m. The IARU region auto set to 2 for North America which I think is correct. Transmitting on 7.280 on 40m or 3.950 on 80m should be within the band but gives me the error.
I have been though a lot of the manual but not all yet. I have not found too much on this topic.
Any suggestions? What did I miss?
Randy

Re: out of Band error
Are you certain that you were using the correct mode for those parts of the bands?

Re: out of Band error
Thank you for responding... I was using SSB phone. This should be correct for NA.
Just wondering what I am missing.
Thanks for any tips that you might have for me to look at.
Thanks.

Re: out of Band error
Providing you have set region 2 in the options as shown below (I am region 1 hence the setting being different) and restarted Log4Om after changing the region because the band plan is loaded at runtime it should work fine.
Has to be something you did wrong because your the only one of the thousands of North American users that has a problem!
The region 2 band plan contains these parameters which are correct for your region
<BandPlanRange>
<Band>80m</Band>
<Start>3500</Start>
<End>3580</End>
<BandUpperLimit>false</BandUpperLimit>
<EmissionType>CW</EmissionType>
<ModulationType>USB</ModulationType>
</BandPlanRange>
<BandPlanRange>
<Band>80m</Band>
<Start>3580</Start>
<End>3620</End>
<BandUpperLimit>false</BandUpperLimit>
<EmissionType>DIGITAL</EmissionType>
<ModulationType>USB</ModulationType>
</BandPlanRange>

<End>4000</End>

Re: out of Band error
Thank you... I expect that I did something wrong - just trying to figure out what and fix it. A couple of screen shots that also might help.

Re: out of Band error
Did you click the floppy disk save button and then restart Log4om?

Re: out of Band error
I repeated the setting to region 2 and then saved then restarted (after rebooting). I wanted to make sure that I had not missed that before.
Same result. I would appear that I have set the region correctly. I did read about the xml files that describe the band limits as you send before. They do look OK. The bank limit xml's use "USB" and "LSB" when the mode selected is "SSB". I suspect that the program does that translation somewhere.
I do appreciate the help.

Re: out of Band error
Additional info...
I reloaded the program software. I set the IARU region back to "2" as I had been using "1" to see if this made a difference. Saved and restarted as required. And everything seems to work now. I have no explanation but OK now. Strange.
If my info helps an any way, then great. Thanks for the assistance that you provided.
